Bridal Show Photos

We're back from the VOW Bride 10th Anniversary Bridal Show in Virginia Beach. We had a beautiful room at the Hilton overlooking the beach but we were so busy we only had a few minutes to admire it! We learned a lot. Mostly that brides go to bridal shows to eat cake samples and watch the fashion show. Most of the brides (and brides moms!) seemed really into Wonderful Graffiti Wedding. 

 

The backdrop for this stage was our Wonderful Graffiti Wedding "To Have And To Hold" design, transferred to  plexiglass and uplit from behind. The text didn't show up so hot but the roses did. This stage was sponsored by Wonderful Graffiti, a fact that escaped us until we got to the show. I did my little spiel from this stage.

We were given space on both sides of the seating area to display whatever we wanted to, so we did a set of three Black Tie banners and five tall cocktail tables with vignettes showing our stuff.

 

 

High-Wire Wonderful Graffiti

This photo is from Kristine Russell of Queensland, Australia.  Three things made me gasp when I saw this  photo she sent last week.

1. This staircase is in her home.

2. She literally lives in the sky.

3. She hung this Wonderful Graffiti quote by Emily Dickinson by herself. And she's afraid of heights.

Here's what she says.

"This graffiti I placed over my staircase. When I received it I was so excited, and wanted to put it up immediately. This meant doing it on my own since I was home alone! Trying to hang it over the staircase was certainly an experience, particularly since I'm afraid of heights....but I was determined to put it up then and there. The low side was easy, but the high side was a challenge, especially since this was just next to the floor to ceiling windows, that are 30 floors up! Well I got it installed without any mishaps and I just love it."

I've noticed that people in the wedding industry have a lot of energy. When our client Elen Henderson called us, she was so excited to have found us. (She doesn't remember where.) Elen owns  Malis Henderson, a 60-year old company that creates high-end wedding accessories. Based on what she saw on the Wonderful Graffiti Wedding website, she envisioned her logo in Wonderful Graffiti, on huge banners on stands, candle wraps, printed canvases, the whole works. Our kind of client!

She called again today to finalize her order. She made it a point to say how wonderful Michael had been to work with. "I tortured him. He'd send me a layout and I'd like it. Then I'd think about it some more. So I'd ask him to change it again. I tortured him." I didn't tell her that her process is nothing new to us.

This is the logo she'll be using in her trade show boutiques, here in the US and in Europe. I think it's perfect  for her, don't you? 

Spiderman Graffiti

I not only love this client's Wonderful Graffiti design, I love the story behind it. Our client, Dawn Baker, was looking to decorate her 6-year-old's bedroom and wasn't quite sure what she wanted it to say. So she asked  her 6-year-old. He literally recited this line to her, and told her where it came from.

When our designer, Michael, received her request, I cannot explain his excitement. So I'll let him do it for you. This is his reply to Dawn.

""I have your Spiderman sample attached. I am a huge fan of Spiderman so this was really fun for me to put together. The font is the actual logo font from the Spiderman movies.The color is our Garnet which I think is perfect for your quote. The background web is satin silver.

Intense Week Ahead

Working all weekend to get ready for VOW Bride magazine's big 10th Anniversary bridal show at the Virginia Beach Convention Center this Sunday, Feb 21.

Wonderful Graffiti Wedding gets a double-size booth directly facing the stage where I'll be speaking. Plus five 30"d tall cocktail tables to display all kinds of Wonderful Graffiti Wedding merchandise. On those tables I plan to display our Tokens For Love like BRIDES magazine showed them, on cupcakes.

Also want to do chocolate cupcakes with our Chocolate Collection paper cupcake toppers.

Oh, and wine bottles in Black Tie and Chocolate Collection wine wraps.

 

I'm hoping no one takes off with the snacks.

We also  have a big corporate installation Tuesday and Ryder has a derm appointment way far away on Wednesday. So much to do, so little time. I predict much fast food this week. Ew.

Another $250 Wonderful Graffiti Gift Card Winner!

Hooray for Wendy Pecikonis of Put In Place Redesign in Powell, OH!  She designed this Graffiti herself in our Playroom and says, "My client's little girl was thrilled with her new  redesigned room and the wall saying really pulls everything together.  I'm a Redesigner whose goal is to bring new life to existing decors with creative and clever accessories, color, and unexpected surprises.  I use Wonderful Graffiti often!"

Coco Chanel Graffiti

This just in from New York interior designer Heather Bryant. She commissioned this Wonderful Graffiti design for the 5th Avenue home of an undoubtedly fashion-forward client. Background Graffiti

We exchange Christmas gifts every year in our living room. Inevitably Ryder sits on the love seat backed by a boring bare wall. (I'm a big believer in not covering every wall. The eye needs a place to rest, I've read.)

Geord and Mackenzie brought about a dozen unused pieces of holiday Graffiti home and plastered them everywhere. When I looked at the photos from Christmas, I noticed that THIS year's photos of Ryder opening his presents were much more interesting than usual. Or maybe it's just because I think Wonderful Graffiti is interesting? 

Lots Of Things

I love abundance, don't you? There's something so satisfying about lots of the same thing all in one place. Big bins of bolts at Lowe's. Stacks of white towels at department stores. Huge bowls of M&M's! Abundance equals luxury, I guess.

 Since we launched Wonderful Graffiti Wedding, I get to see wedding stuff in big quantities. I snapped a few photos to share:

Horray! A photo just arrived that I immediately earned a place on our Wall of Fame which, along with a $250 Wonderful Graffiti gift card, comes with my respect and admiration.

The big prize goes to Denise Malario from Farmington CT. She says, "I placed my Wonderful Graffiti in my Master Bedroom along the tray ceiling. It surrounds the entire circumference of my ceiling. What I loved most about my experience was easy ordering, exacty what I expected. It was even more beautiful than I anticipated. Hanging my Graffiti was a challenging as my King bed did not allow me to use a ladder. However, I was able to stretch to do proper placement. It takes decorating confidence to combine elegant bedroom furnishing like Denise's with lyrics from the sexy song "Your Body Is A Wonderland" by John Mayer. But you have to be a bit of a risk-taker to add Wonderful Graffiti to your decor, period. That's Denise' photo. She says her crazy-cute earrings are from Cookie Lee.
